The Keystone Heights Airpark was constructed in 1942 as Crystal Lake Airfield. In 1947 the City of Keystone Heights acquired the property from the Federal government. It was constructed to allow large aircraft to land, in the event of an emergency. Those large runways are still maintained today.
Centrally and conveniently located in Northeast Florida, the Keystone Airport is situated 43 nautical miles Southwest of JAX International Airport and 15 nautical miles Northeast of Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV).
Straddling both the Bradford and Clay Counties in North Central Florida, Keystone Airport is the only general aviation airport in these two counties of Northeast Florida.
Keystone Airpark is also known for its International Aerobatic Club. This club promotes safe aerobatics flying globally. This particular club, Chapter 90, hosts the annual North Florida Aerobatic Contest. Many come and enjoy the high-flying antics and death-defying stunts safely produced by this league.
